Bhawanipatna: A new initiative named ‘Mission Akankhya’ has been launched in Kalahandi district, Odisha, to provide free coaching to a select group of civil services aspirants each year, as announced by an official on Saturday.
An agreement was formalized between the Kalahandi district administration and Vision IAS, based in New Delhi, during the Independence Day celebrations.
The MOU was signed by Deepali Chaturvedi, vice-president of Vision IAS, and Sachin Pawar, the Kalahandi Collector, to facilitate this initiative under the corporate social responsibility (CSR) program of the coaching institute.
The district administration will offer the necessary infrastructure, while Vision IAS will deliver free coaching to 60 students annually, chosen through a written examination and interview process, available in both classroom and online formats.
Registration for the program will commence on August 22, with the examination scheduled for September 21.
Chaturvedi mentioned that Vision IAS has previously implemented similar programs in the remote areas of aspirational districts in Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan.
This marks the first such initiative in Kalahandi, which has been identified as an aspirational district by NITI Aayog for targeted development under the Aspirational Districts Programme (ADP).
Coaching sessions for the selected candidates will begin in Bhawanipatna from the first week of October.
